‘a splash of art, colour and poetry in difficult times’

Celf o Gwmpas, a well established arts and health charity based in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, will be putting in place a major permanent outdoor art installation in the centre of Llandrindod Wells on the 23rd March. The work is partially funded by money administered by Powys County Council and supported by Bargain Buys. The work will consist of seven large panels stretching over a distance of some eighty metres, depicting some of the key sites and buildings of Llandrindod Wells. The artist is Andrew Smith who has undertaken community arts projects in Cardiff and other European cities and was former Director of fine art at Bangor University.

In addition, Celf o Gwmpas have been funded to employ a poet who will be spending time in the town, speaking to local people and trying to capture the essence of the town and its wonderful Victorian architecture
